Experience
Kate M. Growley (CIPP/US, CIPP/G, AIGP, CMMC RP) is a director with Crowell Global Advisors and based in Hong Kong. Kate helps her clients understand and shape the policy environment for some of the most complex data issues facing multinational companies, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, privacy, and digital infrastructure. In her work, Kate regularly collaborates with multi-stakeholder teams, including in-house policy, technical, and compliance resources, to craft practical and impactful strategies. Kate has partnered with clients across every major sector, with particular experience in technology, health care, manufacturing, and aerospace and defense. She also frequently trains public and private sector stakeholders, including as a regular guest lecturer at the Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. Kate is an IAPP AI Governance Professional and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) for both the U.S. private and government sectors. She is also a Registered Practitioner with the U.S. Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Cyber Accreditation Body (AB).
Prior to joining CGA, Kate was a partner with CGA’s parent law firm, Crowell & Moring LLP, and based in Washington, DC. There, she helped develop and lead the law firm’s nationally recognized Privacy and Cybersecurity Group. She maintained a robust legal practice focused on private critical infrastructure, particularly the U.S. Government contracting community. As a lawyer, she was internationally recognized by Chambers and named a “Rising Star” by both Law360 and the American Bar Association (ABA). Kate previously served as co-chair of the ABA’s Public Contract Law Section’s Cybersecurity, Privacy & Emerging Technology Committee, as well as the ABA’s Science & Technology Section’s Homeland Security Committee. She was also inducted as a lifetime fellow in the American Bar Foundation.
